Construction Update: April 2017


Fuel Receiving Facility ground preparation continues. Major excavation and replacement work has been completed, while ground densification continues. Tank and foundation construction is expected to commence in May or June. The Fuel Receiving Facility is located on Port Vancouver land.


VAFFC’s Oil & Gas Commission pipeline application was approved on April 3, 2017, providing technical approval to construct the Marine Terminal and Pipeline components of the project.

This permit provides technical approval to construct the Marine Terminal and Pipeline components of the project. Construction of the Marine Terminal requires ESA DP (Environmentally Sensitive Area Development Permit) from the City of Richmond. The Pipeline construction requires permission from the landowners of the Pipeline corridor, including Richmond, Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, and YVR.
